Antoon came to the rescue and helped me tonight with removal of the engine of the partscar. The motor and transmission are going to Chris in Germany. He is totally into the Poly-engines.

How many cubic inches does my engine have???
DON'T U JUST LOVE PATINA........
With help from my bud Tommie, we got the Fury inside the garage tonight; next week my 2-week holiday starts, so i can start dismantling the car again. Still keeping it easy, still need to recover from my last surgery 5 weeks ago.

Chris Vaughn reproduced a heater-delete plate; that's right...no heater for the Savoy

My new engine, thanks to my mopar-bud Jeroen Metske. He was so kind to sell me his 413 Wedge engine. Produced on November 1st, 1963, correct castingnumbers, correct date. This is an AAQA-engine, with a thicker casting, which can handle more horses. Thanks again Jeroen!
The body is ready for pick-up. I am gonna put her on wheels, and then she can get the exterior done. I hope to get her in the bodyshop again in about 2 months; i still need to recover from my last surgery 3 weeks ago, so i can't do much on the car myself for now.

does it get any better than this...
more overspray
duplicating the factory job...
overspray is the word
1st stage of paint yesterday

2012/07/04

is this factory-correct or what!
Hans working on some small imperfections; little pitting in the sheetmetal needed some attention
more sealer
duplicating the factory sealer as good as can be
factory-correct sealer!
Hans putting in the sealer to prevent moisture getting in. Not a concours-job, but just as the factory did it...rough!
the car in primer and covered in the gray basecoat

i even got a chance to shoot the paintgun ( for 10 seconds )
Hans van Stokkum, of H & S Paint, is putting some epoxy-
primer on her
The Savoy has been beadblasted again and she is ready to go into the paintbooth for primer and a greyish underlayer of paint. ( to duplicate the factory-original primer )

another pic of my ready-to-go-tranny; still needs cast-iron-like paint. thanks to Brother Antoon, who rebuilt the transmission for me.

the fendertag is factory-ready for paint; this is how it was painted back in the days.
Next monday...the Savoy is going to get beadblasted again, and then into the paintbooth for primer and painting of the trunk, enginebay, passengercompartiment and undercarriage. The car will be completely covered in a 40% flatblack/silk grey, to duplicate the primer that was applied in the factory; the factory didn't completely paint the undercarriage, but a lot of it was left in bare primer, without paint, only overspray. Please see the next pic; this is an example of the overspray that the Savoy will get.
My buddy Antoon ( the Deputy ) has been busy rebuilding my A-833 tranny for the Savoy; New bearings, synchrorings, gaskets. Thanks Antoon.
the Fury even has an electric operated front bench! ( it is not going into the low-budget Savoy )
taking A LOT of pics of factory detailing;
